Our Story

How it all started...

In 2001, Bishop Oliver L. Pittman, Sr. and First Lady Anita Pittman responded to God’s call to serve as disciple-makers in the City of Raleigh. They started with a small Bible study in their home, initially with no members. Within weeks, their group expanded to three participants, along with their children, quickly outgrowing their residence at 5605 Preston Place.

With God's guidance and Lady Pittman's connections as a Mary Kay beauty consultant, they found a space on Six Forks Road for their first worship service as Sure Promise Christian Church. During this inaugural service, the first person came to Christ, and the church began to grow as more individuals found faith, following the model of Acts 2.

Over the years, the church moved through several leased spaces before finding its permanent home at 4301 Pearl Road. The congregation grew from just two members to over 100, always focused on making disciples and strengthening families, one at a time.
